She's a speaker at events and on national radio programs, writes a
monthly parenting column, presents the Totally Fit Mom fitness program
for moms across the nation, contributes educational and fitness articles
to websites and magazines, and is frequently quoted in web and print
publications, including newspapers such as
The Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News, and Miami
Herald.
Erin’s passion is twofold: 1) sharing practical, educationally-sound and
reality-based strategies for healthy parents to build strong families,
and 2) inspiring and coaching moms to greater fitness and health, so
they can look great, feel great, and be the best parent they can be.
These two passions intertwine with a solid educational and practical
experience background that allows her to speak and teach with
life-changing strength. As an accomplished educator, working with
children and parents for 30 years regarding teaching and learning, child
development and behavior, family and interpersonal relationships, and
leadership, Erin
knows what works. Most importantly, her credibility and expertise
is grounded in practical experience as parent of 13 children ranging in
age from four to 23.
Erin received her bachelor’s degree in education (1981) and master’s
degree in rehabilitation (1991) from Western Michigan University. Her
experience crosses a wide range of educational environments, from
classroom instruction to one-on-one special education instruction. Since
the 1980’s, Erin has served as a leader on professional and parent
boards as an expert in education and child development, as well as
speaking at conferences and workshops for educators and parents since
the early 90’s.
Erin currently teaches leadership, individual and organizational
behavior, health and wellness, and writing as adjunct faculty for
Cornerstone University and serves as an educational consultant and
counselor for families on homeschooling, gifted child education, and
special education. She and her husband Shawn enjoy raising their
children in Michigan.
